Welcome to Casa Carolina
|
|
Sunrise over the Caribbean youll revel in its splendor from your balcony at Casa Carolina. If the other end of the day is more to your liking, the star-filled sky will dazzle you. You can enjoy both while swinging in the hammock on your balcony at Casa Carolina, Xcalaks newest beach resort and dive education center. |
| With only four guestrooms, Casa Carolina offers the privacy, intimacy, and individual attention usually found in only the most exclusive locations, but in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Bob and Caroline, your hosts, have been traveling throughout the Yucatan since the 1980s. Casa Carolina is the culmination of many years of planning and attention to detail. The best of what the Yucatan offers has been brought to Casa Carolina, in both structure and décor. |

The four guestrooms at Casa Carolina all have balconies facing the Caribbean. Three of the rooms have queen-size beds. One room has a full-size bed and a twin bed. All four rooms have kitchens stocked with basic cookware, glasses, dishes and utensils (Click here for more information on the kitchens). All rooms in this self-sufficient resort have solar-powered electricity, with a back-up generator. Propane heated hot water is available 24 hours a day. The bathrooms and all floors are fully tiled with Mexican ceramic tile. For those rare occasions when the breeze in Xcalak isnt enough to cool you, each room has a ceiling fan. |

For larger groups who want to stay together in one place, or people who just want more space, we also have a new three bedroom, three bathroom house available for rental. Ask for details. You dont have to be a diver to enjoy Casa Carolina. You just have to enjoy the sun, the turquoise sea, and the tranquility you may never have experienced before. Snorkeling inside the worlds second longest barrier reef will enable you to see many of the species the divers see: lobsters, rays, puffer fish, jewfish, parrotfish, and too many species of colorful tropical fish to list are just a sampling of what you might see on any given day. If staying on top of the water is more to your liking, ocean kayaks are available for your use. Fishing with local guides can be arranged. Tarpon, permit, and bonefish are the areas catch and release prizes. If you would rather stay out of the water, swing in a hammock and catch up on your reading. A day trip to the ruins at Kohunlich can be managed easily. The Temple of the Masks is unlike anything else youve seen! If you have traveled in the Yucatan at all, even if you have only driven down from Cancun, your interest in Mayan history probably has been piqued. Bob and Caroline have an extensive library of Mayan history. If they dont know the answers to your questions, youre welcome to continue your search in their books. |
