You don’t have to be a diver to enjoy Casa Carolina.  You just have to enjoy the sun, the turquoise sea, and the tranquility you may never have experienced before.  Snorkeling inside the world’s second longest barrier reef will enable you to see many of the species the divers see: lobsters, rays, puffer fish, jewfish, parrotfish, and too many species of colorful tropical fish to list are just a sampling of what you might see on any given day. If staying on top of the water is more to your liking, ocean kayaks are available for your use. Fishing with local guides can be arranged.  Tarpon, permit, and bonefish are the area’s “catch and release” prizes.  If you would rather stay out of the water, swing in a hammock and catch up on your reading. A day trip to the ruins at Kohunlich can be managed easily.  The Temple of the Masks is unlike anything else you’ve seen!  If you have traveled in the Yucatan at all, even if you have only driven down from Cancun, your interest in Mayan history probably has been piqued.  Bob and Caroline have an extensive library of Mayan history.
