Our rental house in Xcalak (also on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico), on the other hand, is for the adventerous among you. Just recently, this area known as the Costa Maya was isolated from the rest of Mexico being at the end of a dirt road that wound through miles of rain forest inhabited by Jaguars, monkeys, parrots, and other creatures. Today, the trip is much shorter thanks to a new paved road that brings you to the heart of this magical paradise.
